It is the policy of the Park District that program participants must have a current membership to participate at membership rates when applicable. Memberships must be purchased prior to the program start date to receive the programs membership rate, the difference will NOT be refunded for memberships purchased after the first day of a program. Patrons may register for programs at the membership rate beyond their expiration date but if they do not renew they will be obligated to pay the difference between the member and non-member rate for programs that they continue to participate in past their expiration dates. Membership rates apply to youth programs when there is a family membership, not if the individual parent has a membership (if the child is under the age of 6, they will receive the membership rate in a program, due to no fees required for the minor under the age of 6)
Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. They should show respect to all participants and staff, refrain from use of foul language, show respect for equipment and facilities, refrain from threatening or causing bodily harm to self, other participants or staff and make sure they follow all safety rules and procedures set forth by staff. The Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant.
Volunteer coaches for our recreational programs will sign and agree to follow a Coaches Code and Guidelines. Once they have signed paperwork and have been a volunteer with us, the Park District will not make that person sign the paperwork for each additional sport they volunteer to coach, as each signed Guideline will remain on record.
